I have been looking into this for the past three days. From what I have learned so far you have to have a license. From what I have been told it is free and not hard to get.

As for it being the same as a building a still it has to be a still capable of producing around 170 to 180 proof. There is a reflux still (Charles 803) capable of producing 190 proof. You can buy the kit for around 795.00.

Out of one bushel of corn you can produce approx. 2.8 gal of ethonal. I don't know the cost of corn today but they say you can produce a gallon of ethonal between .89 to 1.20.

I have ordered the blue prints for the Charles 803 but I thinik it would be worth the 795.00 to buy the kit.
I think it might work to distill the diesel also.

Did you build the 803?
Does it work well?
