Did you add the extra line for the waste oil? I am uploading an updated drawing that is more like I am building.

I think we have to upload it to the server. Standby and I will find out what we have to do. OK, I had the pic uploaded to the server and it works. I will have a link made to the server so members can upload pics to embed in their message.

OG you can edit and move that wherever you want it.

Great schematics!

I am just at the very beginning, studying the process, before I start building.

It looks like being able to have temperature control at the right points is the key. That means, having guages at the right point, to know what the temperature is. Where do they sell temperature guages that register up in the 700 to 1100 degrees fahrenheit?

Oilguy, That Looks simple, it can't be that simple.

what kind of line do you use thru the burner and what kind of burner do you use?

Hey JJ...
It really is that simple... Right now I have a Beckett burner but I would like to upgrade to a waste oil burner ... I haven't been working on it lately because I have sooooooo many projects going on at the moment and I bought a new 6.7L diesel that seems to be too damn sensitive to anything but ULSD.... So I have to get a little braver before I play with it... They cost too much to repair! Some times I just wanna go back to an old 12 valve cummins or 7.3 PSD so I don't have to worry as much.

I was think about using an old steam cleaner that had an buner like that on it and it already has a line that runs thru it. do you think it would work. I believe I can get my hands on one. but I would like to have one that you can fire with Nat. Gas. Are they a certain hight on the cooling tower to collect the diesel fuel at. and what do you use to collect the droplets of fuel when they condence into fuel. hope you can understand what I am tring to say.

oh by way thanks for your help I believe you was the only on that would reply back. I had joined this fourm back sometime as jr18 and could not get it to work. I hope I was't to big of a pain in the butt.

Thanks

The components in it should work... but I am not familiar enough with them to give you a definite answer... I am sure someone on here has more knowledge about that.
You want the oil to get hot enough to boil... violently. And vaporize it quickly.... Then you need the vapor to stay hot until it get to where you want it to condense... It can't do this with any O2 around or it will flash fire and you boiler will go BOOM! You want the whole system to be closed.
In fact I would want the diesel collection tank to be sealed as well and have it vented to the burner... When you get a plant running you will understand why...
Nah... You didn't bug me... I am glad you figured out how to get on though.

O.G. Have you updated your plans yet. Dont mean to rush you. But anticipation is killing me. Ready to get started on a mini processor.
