I found an interesting site about a guy running a 6.9 Ford Diesel on Straight WMO... He talks about his project from start to stop on his site :

I've been doing that for a while in my 92 Dodge Cummins. I use a 2 tank system similar to the SVO guys.

Power and everything stays the same or similar? If so I might look at getting one for my company truck and mounting a large tank on the back for oil... How does it deal with long idling? Smoke?
Do you know of anyone doing this on a common rail diesel?

I have been running 50% in my jeep with a Bosch CP3 common rail system. I am going to drop the percentage down to 30% unless I can get enough 10w30 gas engine oil. The 15w40 diesel engine oil that I have been using smokes more than than the lower weight oil. My CTD burns it straight just fine but I have been cutting it with diesel to keep smoke at idle down to a minimum. I think that most of the difference between the two systems is that the Cumins P-pump has positive displacement so every injection gets the same volume of fuel but the Common Rail's injection volume is limited by increased viscosity.

My power is the same. Idling makes smoke even with my heat. Give it something to do to bring the cylinder temps up just a little and it clears up.
I have most of the heaters and plumbing the 2 tank SVO guys have so there is considerable cash and labor investment. Its not for everyone.

I am new to this forum.I start watching this site because a friend of mine had told me he was running 80% used oil in his 06 powerstroke. This is the first place I have found with this topic. He claims to have raised his fuel mileage from 13 to 22mpgs, and an increase in power. He has been running this for 12k miles with no ill effects. He says he changes fuel filter every 5k when he changes his oil.He works at a ford dealership and cherry picks the oil he uses. There are others that are doing this also.

i also run straight WMO in my truck, i have a very similer system to the WVO guys where i start and stop on diesel then switch over when the truck warms up. only problem i seem to be having is getting a pump that can effectivly move the thicker fuel.
power and economy seem to go up but i dont keep good enough track of what i dump in to get good numbers. dousent even smoke much
